Frequently Asked Questions

Do i only have the “open enrollement” period to enroll in in private insurance?

That only applies to ACA/Obamacare plans. Private insurance is available to you year-round. There are also “special enrollment periods” which qualify some to sign-up for ACA plans outside of open enrollement.

Are these plans one-year contracts?

There is no required length of time; you have the policy because you need it.

How much do you charge for your services?

I do not charge you anything. When we find the plan that is right for you, the insurance company will pay me for assisting you in your search.

Do you work with other types of insurance as well?

I have Medical/Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Supplemental, Critical Illness, Income Protection (aka Short Term Disability) and access to everything available, so I am happy to point you in the right direction if you require anything specific!

Is it expensive to switch to private insurance?

It is much less expensive than you think! From personal experience, switching to private saved me $1,500 for the entire year!

Will private PPO plans cover me wherever I go?

YES! These PPO plans provide nationwide coverage on and off the job and aren’t limited to your zipcode or county like many other plans.

What determines the price of insurance?

Public plans (ACA/Obamacare plans) are based on income and age, while private plans are based on health.

What is the difference between ACA/Obamacare plans, Employer plans, and Private Insurance?

The ACA/Obamacare is comprehensive medical coverage that cannot be denied because of pre-existing conditions. It is most affordable IF the monthly premiums are subsidized by the government. If you do not receive that discount, it is significantly more expensive than most other plans available.

Employer plans are fantastic for the employee, but the minute you add a family member (spouse, children, or both) to the plan, the premium skyrockets. This is because employers typically provide benefits to their employees, but the family will have to pay the full cost to be added to the plan.

Because private insurance is health-based, there is an application process because not everyone may qualify. You're getting a preferred rate because you're healthy, so it's less expensive than most plans and has BETTER coverage.
